Biography:

I grew up in Colorado and love our spectacular mountains!  Before I moved to Westcliffe, I taught in Colorado Springs - middle school science for 9 years, followed by  10 years teaching high school science, some of which was at an alternative school.  I believe science is more meaningful if students experience it through hands-on labs and activities.  I've done environmental research in the dry and rain forests in Costa Rica; on many rivers in the western US; and studied desert ecology with 8th graders in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.  Our home, the third rock from the Sun, is quite the amazing place – let's go explore!
