I graduated in 1974 with honors from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana with majors in Spanish and Theatre. Ten years later, I completed my master's degree in Education, and I have continued to take classes of relevance and interest.
I have been a teacher for twenty four years but this is the first time I have taught in a small school. My experience has been in two large high schools: North Central in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Eaglecrest High in Centennial, Colorado. I have had many opportunities to work on high school curriculum and on various leadership teams. I have also led student and adult groups to Mexico and Costa Rica, for study and to work on houses for Habitat for Humanity. I currently enjoy teaching sophomore English, senior English, Spanish III, and Advanced Placement Spanish. Additionally, I sponsor the Drama Club and International Thespian Society; we stage two productions a year. I have two grown daughters, and I am married to Steve Miller who is the pastor of the Community United Methodist Church in Westcliffe. |
